Landscaping for Havezate Hall

Havezate Hall is a landscape redevelopment of arable land combining housing, recreation, horse husbandry and nature in a sustainable way. Existing buildings will be retained and supplemented with recreational homes, carefully and restrainedly fitted into the landscape.

The layout is characterised by minimal and water-permeable paving, natural footpaths and green parking areas. Existing landscape elements will be preserved where possible and enhanced with native planting, flowery grasslands and wadis for water collection and biodiversity. The plan thus forms a future-proof and coherent whole, in keeping with the rural character of the area.

The careful positioning of functions preserves sightlines across the arable land and respects the openness of the landscape. The chosen layout encourages a natural transition between buildings and outdoor space, giving the whole a calm and balanced appearance. This creates a harmonious development in which use, landscape and ecological values reinforce each other.
